Saudia is the name that the airline formerly known as Saudi Arabian Airlines receives. With its headquarters in the city of Jeddah, this company was founded in 1945 after US President Franklin Roosvelt presented King Abd al-Aziz ibn Saud with a Douglas DC-3 aircraft. The decade of the 50s and 60s was for the Saudia flights of slow but sure growth, but it would be the decades of the 80s and 90s that would see the great expansion of the airline with the massification of international flights. Since 2000, Saudia has lived one year of rapid growth in the number of flights and international prestige.
Saudia currently offers flights through more than 172 aircraft of companies such as Airbus and Boeing, reaching more than 95 destinations as of September 2019.

Saudia offers flights with different free baggage allowances depending on the class you have chosen to fly. Traveling in tourist class you can check in a single suitcase whose weight does not exceed 25 kilos. On the other hand, in the First Class and Business Class classes you can carry two suitcases of 25 kilos each. The maximum allowed measurements must not exceed 158 centimeters by adding the width, height and length. In case of exceeding the stipulated weights or measures, a supplement must be paid that will vary depending on the distance to travel and the class in which you travel. Prices move between $ 6 and $ 100. On Saudia flights it is also allowed to carry a carry-on bag in the cabin during the flight. For the tourist class the maximum weight is 7 kilos, while in upper classes it is allowed to carry up to 9 kilos and another small extra piece.
