✈ Alitalia - Routes & Flight Booking

Alitalia is an Italian airline founded in 1947 and that over the years has been placed in the positions of the most outstanding international companies. In 2001,  Alitalia joined SkyTeam Alliance, along with other renowned airlines such as Air France.

The fleet consists of Boeing, Airbus and Embraer aircraft. The first logo of Alitalia was constituted by a winged arrow that represented the speed of the company and this has accompanied it for 22 years.  

The airline's civil flight plan includes 103 destinations in 44 countries. Since 2008, Alitalia has mainly operated long-haul flights from its main hub Rome-Fiumicino. In addition, it uses Milan-Linate, Milan-Malpensa, Naples-Capodichino and Turin-Caselle airports. In Spain, it uses the Madrid-Barajas airport as a hub. In Paris, Charles de Gaulle and Pisa Airport. It has more than 140 completely renovated aircraft, becoming one of the most modern fleets in the world. In cooperation with the partner airlines from the SkyTeam alliance, the Italians fly to other international destinations.

One of its star products is the MilleMiglia card. For registration only, the company offers 2000 miles as part of the welcome, although these first miles must be used within a maximum period of 6 months. Also, all young people between 14 and 25 years can be part of the MilleMiglia Young.

👜 Baggage regulations at Alitalia

All passengers are allowed to carry on board a hand luggage measuring 55 x 35 x 25 cm and weighing a maximum of 8 kg free of charge. In addition, the carrying of a handbag or a laptop is allowed. Depending on the destination, booking class and issue date of the ticket, travelers may deposit one or two pieces of luggage weighing a maximum of 23 or 32 kg. At the Light fare, passengers pay € 15 per piece of luggage, each weighing 23 kg, when booking through the website or a travel agency. If you book a suitcase at the ticket office or at check-in at the airport, you have to set up 30 €. For flights from Rome to Paris, 20 to 30 € will be charged depending on the booking option.

🕗 Alitalia Web Check-in

Checking online with Alitalia is as simple as any other company. To do this you must enter the reservation code and personal data. Once inside the reservation, it is also possible to select the seat for free. The online boarding pass can be obtained through a computer or mobile device through its application. However, there are exceptions for certain flights such as those destined for Beirut, Havana, Toronto and Moscow, where it is not possible to check-in online, so you have to go to the airport check-in counter.

If online check-in has been made, once at the airport, it is possible to go directly to the security checks if luggage is not checked. Children who are not accompanied and people who need special assistance should go to the Alitalia counter to check-in so that they can receive the service they require.

Online check-in is available 24 before flight departure, even if luggage is taken for check-in. There is also a service called tele-check-in for exclusive members of clubs such as Ulissey Freccia Alata or Freccia Alata Plus. Queuing and waiting are saved with this service.
