The international airline Air Transat was founded in 1986 and has its headquarters and home base in Montreal. It also has turnstiles in Montreal-Trudeau, Toronto-Pearson and Vancouver. The airline currently serves 63 destinations in 30 countries in and outside Canada, with top destinations including the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Haiti. Currently only one connection to Basel exists in German-speaking countries. Flights with Air Transat to Europe are available for cities such as Amsterdam, Barcelona, Dublin, Paris, Rome and London. The airline has codeshare agreements with Enerjet and Thomas Cook Airlines.
The current fleet consists of 39 aircraft, including the Airbus A310-300, Airbus A330-200 and Airbus A330-300. The airline transports around three million passengers per year. 👜 Baggage regulations at Air Transat
The hand luggage policy for Air Transat flights varies by destination. For flights between Canada and Europe, the following regulations apply: Regardless of the booking class, a piece of hand luggage with the dimensions 23 x 40 x 51 cm and max. 10 kg allowed. Camera bags, notebooks and handbags are also allowed. Please make sure that your carry-on bag complies with the usual safety precautions: Containers with liquids must not exceed the limit of 100 ml and must be stowed in a transparent, resealable plastic bag. Medicines and special items such as baby food may be carried without limitation, but must also be presented.
The baggage allowance policies for Air Transat flights are based on destination and booking class. For flights between Canada and Europe, the following free baggage allowances apply: Class Plus and Club Class travelers have two pieces of baggage that can not exceed a total weight of 33 kg or 40 kg. Economy Class travelers have a bag of 23 kg. Regardless of the booking class, the sum of the edge measurements of 158 cm must be observed.
Please note that baggage regulations may differ for other destinations, and check your policies on the airline's website prior to your flight with Air Transat. For infants who do not have their own seat, no baggage allowance is provided. However, a foldable stroller or child seat is permitted. Sports equipment and special equipment are subject to special rates.
🕗 Air Transat Web Check-in
Online check-in for your Air Transat flight is possible between 24 and 2 hours prior to departure. Please note that this service is not available for all airports and check the rules for your departure airport before departure. Web check-in requires a booking confirmation and a valid passport. Alternatively, you can download the airline's app and check it in directly from your smartphone. Your mobile boarding pass with barcode does not have to be printed. If you travel only with hand luggage, you can go directly to the security checkpoints at the airport or check in your checked baggage at one of the baggage drop-off counters.
