👜 Baggage regulations at Air India

Each Air India passenger is entitled to a carry-on of up to 8 kg (55 x 40 x 20 cm), a small handbag and a laptop. The free baggage allowance on domestic flights also includes at least one suitcase of 15 kg in Economy Class, 35 kg in Executive Class and 40 kg in First Class. On international flights, the weight limits for the checked-in luggage are dependent on the departure airport: They are in the Economy Class between 20 and 30 kg and in the Executive Class between 30 and 40 kg. For flights to and from Europe, travelers are allowed to carry a 23 kg suitcase.

Air India recommends that guests check in online through the website and print the boarding pass themselves. With flyai.mobi, there is also an optimized website for checking in with mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets, for which customers receive a mobile boarding pass with a 2D barcode. Check-in on the Internet starts 48 hours and ends 2 hours before departure. Of course, the traditional check-in at the counter is possible. The counters close for domestic flights 45 minutes and for international connections 60 minutes before the start.
