New Delhi is the capital of the Republic of India and seat of executive, legislative and judicial power of the Government of India . It is located in the metropolis of Delhi and is one of its nine districts.

The city was established on 15 of December of 1911 , 2 was planned by two leading British architects of the twentieth century , Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker . The new capital was named New Delhi in 1927 and subsequently inaugurated on February 13, 1931 by Lord Irwin , viceroy of the British Raj. New Delhi has two sites declared World Heritage by UNESCO: the Humayun Tomb and the Qutb complex.
